How far away from car should my Ford Fiesta remote key fob work?

Ford Fiesta 53 plate.

I used to be able to open doors from a distance but now i have to do it stood by car.

Have changed battery.
 
they say if you hold it to your head(temple)and press it, it goes twice the distance. just had to say that:)))))

if you are using chargable bataries you might wana change then after a while because stop working properly after some time... and that might cause your remote problem
