How easy/cheap is to find parts for an old Bike?

A mid-seventies sports bike that takes 27x1.25 tires...
It would be easy to replace its original brakes and speeds if they fail?

You can still buy 27 X 1 1/4 inch tires. No sure what you mean by speeds ? The brake pads are easy to get. Chains are easy to get, freewheels are available if you look hard enough.
