how does the bike speedometer computer work?

It is a computer and it needs to know how far the bike moved for each signal it receives. That is where you enter the distance the bike moves for each rotation of the wheel. It will vary according to the size of the wheel so you need to read it off a chart or actually measure the distance the bike moves for one rotation. The computer then determines how often that signal is received per second and turns it into miles per hour.
