How does Sprint manufacturer warranty work?

I have to go to a Sprint repair center,and my phone is covered under the warranty. i've been experiencing missed calls,people call but my phone doesn't ring, but i know they call only if they leave a voicemail which I get.
Anyways,so how does the warranty work? Will I be out of a phone for weeks or do they give you a new or refurbished phone,or fix it there?
