How does Sony Acid work with a Behringer Mixer?

We have sound coming out through the headphones, and sound from the mic through the headphones but when you push record it stays flat lined. Could it be a wiring malfunction or an error with a default setting of sony acid? Please help us on this issue. It is a Behringer xenyx 1202 NON-USB
