Do they pick you? How does it work?
You Know You Hate Me: lol I'm joining the USAF. But I was just curious about how things work with other branches and why kids joined based on "Rambo". By the way, every question that one asks doesn't pertain to them personally lol ;)

Any Male soldier in the Army can try out for it if he meets the age and rank requirement. I believe it is at least 22 years of age and an E5-E8. The Delta recruiters come around to Army bases twice a year recruiting. It is not a big secret, it is usually advertised in the base News Paper. It dosent matter what your MOS is either they will let anyone from Infantry to a supply clerk go try out.
Delta also sends emails out to certain selected individual soldiers who meet the requirements and due to background may be good canadates. Usually Special Forces or Ranger Regt. soldiers.

You need to be one of the biggest bad asses alive. They are barely human like the SEALS. They are usually selected by invitation only when you are already a top special forces or ranger. I've heard rumors of try outs but haven't seen proof.

This has been answered a thousand times before on this site. Use the search button.

Edit to add: Haha, the kids who watch Rambo and play SOF video games and decide to join up and try out for SF are always the first to drop out. These jokers rarely even make it through BAC, and even if they do they usually don't have the cajones to make it through SOPC.

you can either try out once your an e6 and have (i think its) 6 years in, or they can come to you if you stood out to them. then you go to their try outs. dont know much about it from there.

Didn't you just post a question saying What is with all the kids wanting to be rambo in the Army? Yea, you did. Look who isn't even in the army but asking how to get onto Delta force. Lol.
