Attach a typed essay of one to two pages explaining why a higher education is valuable, how you will contribute to your own education and the university or professional community, and what financial need you have, if any.

Having a chance to attend Cool College State University would be a chance to not only understand myself but the world around me. I am interested in pursuing a career in the law field because I want to make the world a better place around me. Going to college is an opportunity to push my knowledge to its full extent, and I do hope to take full advantage of it. College will be essential because it will open up doors to careers and will help me to figure out which career I will be best suited for and help guide me through the next steps toward the rest of my life.
As a student, I do plan on taking college very seriously, and I hope to do community service and become very active in school activities just as I did in high school. I do want to be very involved in Cool College State University and become involved in all they have to offer because I feel that school is meant to be something more than just work, but something to enjoy and remember. At my high school, Someplace High, I did a lot of community service and extracurricular activities. During my four years, I served in countless clubs and have become what teachers have considered “very dependable”. I hope to continue my activeness into college by writing for the school newspaper and getting involved in various charities and community service projects.
As much as college has always been a top priority, my chances, like many other people, will be very slim without any government aid. From the time when I was young, my mother has always stressed that all of her children will go to college, but the problem is that we cannot afford to go to college. My mother struggles to support her family by working two jobs, and with me going away to college during this recession, it’s even harder for her to try and figure out how she will get me there. To help out, I will get a job in college to help pay for books and other things that I can pay for. I hope to receive enough scholarship money so that I do not have to take out a loan, but if I must take out a loan then I am willing to receive any kind of aid Cool College is willing to give me.
All in all, my college education is of the most importance to me. I cannot see myself getting anywhere in the life, that I hope to one day live, without a higher education. College is very expensive these days, and without money I will not be able to go to college and secure my future. I will do whatever it takes to go to college may that be with or without any federal aid; I will find a way to make it.
