........I'm using?

When I pay my bill it used to show the Motorola phone I started out with.

The motorola bit the dust and for two days I've been using (temporarily) a PanTec Duo. When I go to AT&T site, it shows the PanTec Duo now.

How do they know what phone I'm using?

Makes you wonder if they listen to conversations too....

Every GSM phone identifies itself by sending the International Mobile Equipment Identifier (IMEI) which tells the carrier the identity of the phone. The IMEI is equivalent to the Electronic Serial Number(ESN) used with CDMA and TDMA phones. If the IMEI corresponds to one of AT&T Mobility models, that model will be displayed in OLAM. Once a PDA is displayed on your line, some of the features will be unavailable for self service modifications.

Good luck with that. You'd have to never use your phone, and by that I mean never turn it on, which defeats the purpose of having it.

Thanks for the answer; although I had to go to a swahili and portuguese translator to decipher all the acroynyms  and everything....I think I understand, :ah:

However, this has only happened in the last month. The month before, when I paid my bill it was still showing my old motorola, which I was NOT using. At that time I was using an offbeat motorola BR50 and it didn't show it. It showed my old motorola. Just curious about it.

Thanks for answer this for me!!!!

Also, I did go out purchase an new LG xenon touch screen. Hope the touchscreen doesn't screw up like my touchscreen camera did.

Thanks again.
