How does Army officer training differ from basic training/boot camp?

My husband is getting ready to go into the Army as an officer (he already has a BS in nursing), I've heard a lot of horror stories about boot camp/basic training. How does the Army officer training compare?
he is getting direct commisions as a nurse to be in the CRNA program at Fort Sam Houston
