How does Android handle podcasts?

My question serves two purposes really. First, I'm starting a podcast and want to make it easy for Android owners to get the shows. With iTunes, I have an RSS feed for the episodes that iTunes understands and reads for updated content. Is there something similar for Android users?

Second, I'm thinking about switching to Android and want to understand how I can easily update the 20+ shows I listen to. Again, I'm used to iTunes and that process as a consumer of podcast content. How do you go about keeping your podcasts updated on your phone?

You can setup google listen to sync with the RSS feed and automatically download new episodes.

You can even set it up to only download them over wifi and when plugged in to a power source.

I don't know about about syncing with itunes, but it will parse any rss feed on the web that i've tried. rss is a standard (really just an xml file) so any rss feed should work that you have a url for.

If you have the feed url I can try it out for you?

What I did was purchase Doggcatcher for about $6 or 7 not sure. Then in iTunes you can export your feed as an opml file I think... You then rename it according to Doggcatcher and place it somewhere on your SD card and Doggcatcher will import your feeds. It's been a long time since I've done it so the details I can't remember but, it was easy. Doggcatcher isn't free though but, it is very nice.

Hrmm your web server doesn't like me or google listen lol

It would supposedly download the xml file, but claimed there where no episodes available.

I downloaded the xml file and uploaded it to my server and it worked just fine. I didn't modify the xml at all, it still loaded the audio file from your website.
