How does an xbox live gold membership actually work (Moneywise)?

I was wondering because I know you can buy the memberships from HMV or whatever, but because you have to put in credit card details will it not just leech money out of the account and give the membership to you continuously?
Its me dads card so he gets pure paranoid that money'll start leeching out of his account lol
Am only 15 i avent got me own card

No it doesnt pay continuously. You can choose to pay for a 1 month, 3 month, or 1 year membership with a credit card. It will let you know when your subscription is up, then you will have to update it.
