How does an automatic dodge neon shifter get stuck?

My dodge neon wont go in reverse and when its in neutral it drives along with in every other drive gear.Is there anyway to fix that and about how much would it cost?
 
it might be something small like something came out loose but if it something bad like transmission problems, you might need to change it. and uhmm.... i think it is expensive to change your transmission. im not sure :[
 
The linkage is misadjusted. Either something came loose or got bent. Once it's put back right, it'll be like new.
