How do you write a newspaper article?

I just mean, how would you organise yourself?

I have to write one on the Kobe earthquake for my geography homework, and I have this issue. Once I'm actually sat down writing, I never stop. But it's getting that motivation to START writing/researching that is reeeeeally difficult.

So yeah, would appreciate tips on firstly, how to set out the actual article and secondly, how to organise myself.
