How do you upgrade a pre-paid envelope from 2nd to 1st class post (UK) ?

Can I just stick a 1st class stamp over the printed 2 bit, or do I need to scribble that out first to void it? Plus I need to scribble out the "Freepost" line too, right?

(I have to use that envelope as it's an online DVD rental return envelope.)
