How do you type in your birth date on Playonline for FF on the 360 with a controller?

I'm on the registration screen for FF on my 360 and I heard about people using keyboards because it's faster, little did I know I may *have* to use one so I can type in all my stuff. It doesn't say anything any where about how to type in your stuff to register for Playonline without a keyboard.
