Sounds like a really stupid question but it has me stumped
Every time I go to a bodypump class the instructor is continually shouting out "tighten your abs" or "keep your abs tight". Yet everytime I try to do the exercise with my abs tight I can't breath (obviously I can breath) but I tend to hold my breath instead.
What am I doing wrong and how do you tighten your abs without holding your breath instead
Plus - what is the point of tightening your abs anyway. Especially if the exercise are for my arms or legs?
