I kind of wonder if it'll even happen at all... I can't really imagine what could possibly kill every single person in the world, unless it was some sort of supernatural force.
Oh yes...I forgot about that damned sun. =/

well actually the sun is due to stop producing energy in 5 billion years.

so that would end life on earth, but scientists sugggest we will be living on a different planet by then

Atlas will drop the ball, so to speak....that's how

Earth will be too heavy for him to carry any longer

Eventually our own earth magnetic polarity will shift as it has over the last 4 billion years and the artic poles will change and someplace
like new york city will become the new north or south pole
then warm places will become cold and cold places will be warm
and the ice sheets in the cold artic wil melt and flood the urfaces of the world not under water will become under water killing most of
known mans inhabited land space then the crust of this volcanic
world will open in areas under the water erupting new islands
of lava made islands which life will again take hold and inhabit
but only after masses of people loose their lives to trying to adapt
to the vast changes which have occured many many times
in earths history but only few times in mans time on earth If a
rock from space doesnt strike and set a vast part of the land space on
fire and destroy large numbers of species world wide from the fallout
and blacking out the sun so food production stops for a few months
you know only six months without food and many of the masses
of people and animals on earth would cease to exist life here
already its a matter of time and every one will clcik thehungersite.com
its the only wayto give food free every day

The sun will engulf the planet eventually, but not for billions of years. Most likely before that happens we will be gone. Global warming is shaping up to be a massive problem that may well wipe out most of humanity in the next 50-100 years, combined with our over consumption of the planet's resources, and peak oil, something will give eventually. Did you know we are in the 6th great extinction event the planet has ever seen? We are causing the extinction of thousands of species a year. In the last 100 years (a few generations) global human population has gone from 2 billion to 6 billion, we are really out of control as a species. Also many doctors are worried about a lethal disease that will traverse the globe easily due to airplanes etc.. and wipe out 99.99% of the population.

Some optimists argue that we will travel to the stars, meaning that even when the sun dies humanity will survive. I think this would be wonderful but I am not so sure if this will happen.

Ultimately no one is really sure what will happen, but most of the greatest thinkers of our time see some kind of global calamity in the near future that will wipe out most of us. Depressing but true. Perhaps we could then bounce back from this and learn from our mistakes.. but again I am not so optimistic.

A virus, disease, or we may kill ourselves. The wrong people become powerful all the time. We could run out of room and then both of what I said would be a lot more possible. but I don't care because I may be dead by then. no heaven, no hell, just nothing. journeys have to end some time. :)

maybe by over pollution or something. the people might abuse the resources until there's nothin left but barren, harmful wastelands.

The way we are trying to fight nature, its gonna take its toll, earthquake or a massive Tsunami.

Knowing us and our experiments...we would probably knock the earth off its orbit and we would head straight into the sun.

Either that or Sodom And Gomorra could happen again.

Plague. Disease almost wiped out the human race in the middle ages, and since viruses seem to be increasing in potency, there may just be one we can't stop. And air travel makes it that much easier to spread. Quarantine probably won't make a difference, but that's what seems to help in the last ump-teen Hollywood movies about it.

Not now but maybe in about 5 billion years or so when the sun expands and explodes or simply stops giving off energy and freezes. Who knows
