how do you tell if there are saimese fighting fish eggs in the nest?

i want to know how to tell if there are eggs in my Siamese fighting fish nest, how do i?
 
If you are breeding bettas you should have been supervising. If your bettas spawned you would have seen the male place the eggs in the nest.
