How do you teach an outdoor dog to pooh in a different spot?

My dog stays outdoors and I am gradually expanding the yard by building a new fence every couple of years as my budget permits. I've just recently created more space by doing this, and the dog is poohing next to the bird bath in an area where I plan to put a gazebo..I've been picking up the pooh in the old spot and the new spot...I am gone half the week and cannot monitor her every move. I don't take her for walks because she has plenty of space here.. and again, she is an outdoor dog. Thanks!

I have 2 large dogs. They go where and whenever they get the urge outside in the fenced in yard. I use to have one years ago, that poohed only along the fence and never out in the middle of the yard and I never trained her, she just did it. It was so easy to clean up.. but now, 2 big ones and it's a mine field out there! What a job before I have to mow the lawn! And, they're inside dogs. Sounds like it's a bit late now for you to change her habbits. BTW, I have never kept a dog outside and still don't approve of this, but it's your dog.

It is normal for the dog to go as far away from it's main living & play area to poo.

Put up a temp fence blocking off the area you do not want the dog to poo in until you can be home to control the dogs actions.
