How do you talk to a boy that you like without sounding totally lame?

I've found that whenever I like a super cute boy, I get so nervous and everything that comes out of my mouth is just stupid. I stammer, trip over my words, or else I just stay quiet because I don't know what the heck to talk about. I'm usually fine with boys, in fact a majority of them are my friends and you'd think that I'd be used to this but when it's a boy I actually like, geeeeez I get so lame. Advice pleaseeee?
