How do you take a screenshot on a Sprint Samsung Conquer 4G?

I tried multiple ways to try and take a screenshot on my phone. Does my phone even take screenshots? and if so how do i do it?
I even tried holding the off button and hold button at the same time and i even downloaded apps to screenshot but it always said my phone wasnt rooted correctly.
