First of all make sure it is full of gas, and the engine has oil in it, unless it is a two stroke.
1. Make sure the gas valve is in the on position. on the side of the carb.
2. Make sure it is in neutral
3. Key on, if it has one, not all have one.
4. Close the choke.
5.Kick till it starts, then as it warms up "slowly" open the choke. if it start to cut off close the choke a little bit , till it warms up even more.
6. Make sure you have a good ,new, clean, gaped, spark plug in the engine.
