how do you solve 7 over b+5=10 over 5? sorry i cant write fractions on my computer.?

7/b+5 = 10/5

multiply 10/5 by b+5 and multiply 7 by 5. This will eliminate the denominator, so you are left with:

35 = 10(b+5)

35 = 10b + 50 [subtract 50 from both sides]

-15 = 10b [divide both sides by 10]

-15/10 = b [simplify]

-3/2 = b
