How do you set up internet on a fake iphone?

I have ATT for my phone service. Called them up and told them I need Internet service for that line. they said OK, but when trying to connect, I get an error "connection failed". any suggestions why?
Also, if I will tell ATT that I have a fake Iphone, will they give me support or they will tell me to contact the seller?
I also have WiFi on the phone and can't connect with that either.
Do I need to enable something on the phone?
