how do you save scanned photos to your computer?

Okay heres whats going on. my friends aunt sent her some scanned pics to her yahoo E-mail. Well she tried to download em and save em to her coputer. Well it didnt work. so i told her to forward them to me and i would try to save em to my computer to put on her myspace. well, i downloaded them to my coputer but they are all adobe documents, so i saved them to a folder. But when i went to myspace to upload them they didnt show up in the folder. They are definatly in there but i just dont know what im doing wrong. Is there a way to save the attachment she forwarded to me (which is a scanned picture) to my computer...I cant figure this out...plz help. thanks
