How do you repair a bent A-arm on a Ford Taurus 2001?

Okay, so I'm not even so sure it's an A-arm...It's a bar connecting the two back tires, goes across. It got bent from someone who tied a rope to it to pull me from a ditch. Apparently, that individual didn't know a hook existed for that purpose. Anyways, it's bent, and the car swerves all over. Could barely get it home. What is this part?!
Thank you guys! And thanks for the hook clear-up. So I took some pictures of it could you tell me approximately how much a replacement would cost??

well first the ditch most likey bent it not a rope its call a control arm
a arm looks just like it sounds like a big A shape most wil be on front also called control arms and you cant fix it but can replace it
cant say whats bent or bad without looking at it

does it look like any of these if so you can type how to replace rear control arm and go to any parts store and buy one but stil need a shop to realign it so best just go to a shop have it check and replace
