how do you remove the rear brake drum off of a suzuki quadrunner 160?

The reason is that the rear wheels were locked down some so we re trying to fix it. We have taken off the wheels and removed the brake wire but, it just will not come off we ve hit it with a hammer but it sull will not come loose
