They're usually held in with a small spring clip and the joint (in the transmission output) can be pulled out usually with the leverage of a large flat-blade screwdriver. The 1998 Escort shows no such sign of allowing the CV joing to be removed with this method. Does anyone know the suggested way of removing the CV joint from the transmission on a 1998 Ford Escort SE wagon?
