I have a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT, and the car died on me in Louisville because the cell on the battery that controls the security system went dead. The dealership in Louisville replaced the battery and recoded the key that I had on me, but now my other key won't start the car because it doesn't have the new ignition code. I heard there is a way to recode the key yourself without taking the car in to the dealer and paying them around $100.00 to recode it for you. Is this true? If so, does anyone know how to do it?
