I have the belt as it should be- on all the teeth on the pullies square on as they should be. I'm down to one more pulley before the belt is on there, but let me tell you, there is pretty much no space with which to work and even if then engine were out of the van I still don't think I could put that belt on there. I need about 3 inches more slack but it just won't go on. I am absolutely positive that I've got the belt in the right place. (I used the diagram on the chassis in front of the engine)
The Haynes guide says the 3.0 has a dynamic belt tensioner and doesn't mention how to loosen any pullies to allow the belt to be put on for this engine. Is there a special tool out there or perhaps a nut or something that I can adjust to make the belt go on? Thanks for reading.
SalRobyn123, There is no pulley with a square part or anything even close on any of the 5 pullies.
Timbo Sliced, there is "Ten." which I already supposed to be Tensioner, but as the haynes manual states, it's an automatic dynamic tensioner. I don't know how to manually adjust it or if that's even possible.
Thanks for the help thus far friends.
