J Jeremy New member Jun 11, 2009 #1 Engine lost oil through a bad oil sensor switch. Now the motor knocks when it reaches 2500RPM. I have been told that its just air in the lifter, I changed the oil but I guess the air doesn't purge out like they do in older model vehicles.

I ivan dog New member Jun 11, 2009 #2 no.... whoever told you it was just air in the lifters is wrong they were damaged when the engine lost all its oil and will need to be replaced
