How do you preform a dodge roll on Black Ops?

I know you can dive by sprinting and holding the 'O' button, which the character jumps and slides across the ground. But I am asking about a move I have seen done once before, and preformed once by myself on a total accident. I witnessed an enemy played JUMP TO THE SIDE and roll when I began shooting at him, like a dodge roll on a standard RP game. I mean.. he jumped to the side, and rolled and came up in a crouch.

Any idea on how to do this? I am on the ps3.
