How do you pass a lie detector test by lying? Is there a way of doing it at all?

There's no such thing as a lie detector test. There are polygraphs, which measure blood flow, heart rate and brain activity, but they can't tell if you are lying or not with absolute certainty.

Lying requires more energy than telling the truth, it is extremely difficult if not impossible to deactivate this. In order to lie, one must have the truth ready in their mind so they can fabricate the lie, which leads to increased heart rate and brain activity.
 
How do you pass a lie detector test by lying? Is there a way of doing it? I heard that thumbtacks in your shoes is a myth and it doesn't work. I want to know because I know there's a way of cheating on it, but how? Any and all help is appreciated as I've wondered about this for some time.
