Here's what happened. I was talking with a friend for an hour with the radio on (the engine was off, the ignition key was in the Acc slot - but only the radio was on) When I turn the key to restart my car, the alarm went off. I got out of the car, unlocked, relocked it with the wireless remote, and the alarm stopped. When I tried to start the car, it gave no response. The dashboard lit up.
I read the manuel and thought it sounded like I somehow enabled the engine immobilizer system. So I tried doing little things with the red alarm button by the wheel (tried the "manuel valet parking override") but it just sets the alarm off with the same result as above. Any ideas on how to fix this? Or does anyone know an official Toyota phone number to call for this? thanks!
