how do you open the hood of a 1995 honda civic from the outside of the car?

I have a 95 civic with a shaved door kit. I have a button to open the doors in the trunk of the car in case i locked the keys in the car. The remote that pops the doors broke a while back but since the civic is my summer car, it wasnt a big deal because i could leave the windows down. I garaged the car for the winter and when i went to start it up again, i realized i had no way of getting into the car. I tried the button in trunk but the battery went dead over the winter so it wont work. I need to get into the hood to charge the battery so i can get into the car. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also any ideas for getting into the car itself short of breaking a window would be great too.
