I was prior service Navy and as I could recall, I cried my eyes out during the first day of boot camp because it was my first time being away from family. I sort of got used to it as A-School and balled my eyes out on the day of my first sea deployment. Following my service, I moved back in with my parents. Now, I'm going to a University farrr out east which is located all the way in Massachusetts (I'm located in Southern California). I'm scared of being away from family. Of course now, college is going to be substantially more relaxed and fun due to the lack of rules and regulations as compared to the Military. So what do you guys do? Any suggestions? Advice? Thank you.
How do you military folks adapt to being away from family for so long..?
