How do you make up for height difference in ballroom dancing?

I'm 5'2" so I'm fairly short so everyone I have danced with so far is taller or way taller than me. The guys would usually have to bend their knees to make it work and sometimes I can't even see over their shoulders. I have started dancing only recently so I don't know how it would work out in the future. But I was just wondering if it was common or not so common to dance with people who have large height difference. I really don't mind dancing with tall guys, but I'm thinking it must be hard for them to adjust and not being able to move around the floor as freely as they want (?)
Any insgihts?

Yes, it's common; and yes, it's a challenge. As you gain skill and experience, though, you'll be better at getting out of his way. And as your partners improve, they'll learn to adjust, especially when they're on the inside of a turn.
