according to the picture (refer to link) which way is continental crust "Y" moving? why?
do the trenches and ridges have anything to do with what direction it moves in?
also, there are 5 plates (according to the answers in the back of the book) are the plates anything that is bordered off by either a ridge or trench?
So there is one in the top left where "X" and "A" are, one in the middle where "Y" and the ocean where "Y" lies, one at the bottom where "B", "Z", and "D" are, and two at the top right (one encompassed by the ridge, and one encompassed by the trench). Does that sound correct?
