For example, if you're a college undergrad studying something entirely different, but have taken up photography as an extra-curricular activity and supposedly take "good pictures," what other factors would need to be in place, for you to be able to apply to a masters' program in photography?
I guess my question morphed a little. What I'm really looking to find out is what one would need for a portfolio, for submission to an academic art program, in order to be taken seriously...
