How do you know when to have sex after sex addiction?

If you have been treated/coping with a sexual addiction how do you know when it is ok to have sex if you think about pornography during sex before you were treated?
In a relationship, not if you are single. I know the partner obviously plays a part but I mean more self readiness.

Unfortunately there is no magic sign, each individual needs to make this call themselves depending on your situation and feelings. It really helps to have a partner who you feel completely open with and can talk before and after about how you feel. Take it slow and make sure what ever boundries you set are clear and stick to them. Don't let fear stop you from having a loving relationship, just always be aware of your thoughts and keep discussing your feelings.

You should probably try and have an actual relationship with someone before having sex again, when your partner's ready.

Before you decide to engage in sex, stop for a moment and try to realize why you are having it. If your partner has been very sweet lately, or has done something to deserve it, then you may go ahead and engage. They key here is to ask yourself whether or not you are 'using' that person or 'appreciating' that person.
