How do you know if there's a spirit near?

The house Im at I lived in for almost 3 years, and I've always had a weird feeling about it since day one. I always hear what sounds like someone walking above my room in the attic. I've had whispering in my ear when iwas walking upto my house, like a woman saying goodbye or goodnight. When noone else was in my house I thought I heard talking by my room. There's unexplained tapping inthe pantry, my dog is never comes in my room and when he does he scratches at one spot on the floor very fervently. My ears ring for no reason, and very recently there was a loud bang on my wall where my moms room is. I went to see if it was my mom messing around in her room but everybody was in the living room. It happened 3 more times that night. So how do you know? My mom doesn't believe in the paranormal, and I've always felt Im more sensitive to things than others. Btw I'm 19
