How do you jailbreak and then unjailbreak ipod touch 2g ios 4.0.2 MC model?

I wanted to jailbreak my ipod touch(2G IOS 4.0.2) but i don't know which software to use. And how do you unjailbreak it later on? Are there any defects to jailbreaking like loss of data or something?
