i have a fix gear bicycle and i just bought all the parts i need to install a front brake.
1) font brake
2) universal shift cable
3) specialized lever
4) black tube that covers break wire (needs to be cut to size
now my main question is that both sides of the metal break cable have a little ball on them. so im not sure how i am suppose to slide this cable through either the lever or black protector tube. do i cut one side of the metal cable?
also my black protector tube did not come with little metal tips. do i need to buy some to pinch them on the ends?
another question, the brake has a pole that goes through the forks, this pole has 2 washers (toothed for grip) do they both go on the same side (front of the fork)? do i use both? i cant use one in front and one in back, since the bolt of the brake goes into the fork, there is no way to use 1 washer on the back side of the fork.
i have looked up videos through google and youtube, but could not find anything that was detailed. thank you for your help. please be as detailed as possible.
