how do you install .NET compact framework 3.5 on a treo pro? is it even possible?

i have a treo pro and it has compact framework 2.0 and i want to upgrade it to 3.5 or at least 3.0. is that even possible? because i've tried downloading it, but when i open the file on my palm, it says that the file needs to be opened from within the application? idk it doesnt make any sense. helppppppppppp
