How do you install a new fuel pump on a 1993 Mazda MX-6?

I just bought a 1993 Mazda MX-6 and it does not start or run, I was told it was because it needed a new fuel pump, so a new fuel pump was purchased and I am trying to figure out if the old one was located inside the tank itself or not and how to properly install the new one.PLEASE HURRY!! THANX!!
