VCR already set up on it? Basically I have my tv, which has a VCR hooked up to it and then we have the Direct TV box hooked up too. But I can't seem to get the DVD player hooked up to it and working. I hooked up the yellow, red and white cords to the corresponding holes on the back of the vcr, plugged it in and it came on and all but I couldn't get the tv to switch to the channel that showed the dvd (you know, like when you hook it up normally it goes to like L1 or L2 and you see the logo for your DVD player until it loads). Then I tried doing the cords to the Direct TV box and the same thing. I tried switching the channel on the tv itself and on the Direct TV remote and neither worked. Help, I'm a Netflix addict and it's killing me, lol!
Would I have to switch out the vcr and dvd player every time I wanted to watch a dvd or vcr? That'd be a pain but if it's what I have to do I'll do it. That being said, what freaking channel do I turn the TV too? On my old TV I had the DVD player connected to the VCR by the red, yellow and white jacks and when I watched a DVD I had to switch the vcr channel to L2.....

Easy! Take out the VCR player and connect your DVD player instead.

Or you can always use a multi-switch selector.
