How do you handle going out to eat as with your toddler, what restaurants do you go to?

My husband and I love going out to eat, it's always fun and we talk for hours on end. We've always seen it as "our time" and an investment in our relationship and little family.

It was so much easier before our daughter (obviously) and when our daughter was 0-10 months old, she was a nice, calm baby, would hardly ever make a fuss, but since she learned to walk at 10 months old and it's gotten so much harder to go out with her. she just wants to walk around the restaurant and mingle, we take turns walking her around but she never gets enough, it's fun at times cause she's so friendly and makes friends but I don't like her bothering people when they are eating, most people are nice about it but I know some people aren't very baby friendly. She's 17M now and way more interactive than ever. My husband and I only have gone out to eat once without her, and that was last month to celebrate our 5 year anniversary, it was nice to be able to stay seated the whole time but we talked about her 90% of the time. So we failed at making that dinner about us :)

My favorite restaurants are:
Claim Jumpers
Famous Dave's
El Torito Mexican Grill
Red Lobster
Chili's
Chipotle
...we don't go to McDonald's or burger king or other fast food like that cause they make us feel all sluggish and crummy after wards...

I actually think it is rude for you to get up in a restaurant like Chili's etc to walk your child around while other people are eating you just don't do that YOU are the parent and NEED to teach her to sit bring a bag of goodies like crayons, paper, books, etc. to use ONLY when u go out and only when u r waiting on food I wouldn't order anything but dinner and then eat and get check I think 1 hour is good enough any longer and she isn't gonna be happy make sure you go when it isn't to busy either so you don't have to have a long wait before your food comes and make sure she isn't tired like close to bed or nap time.
