My fiance and I are currently engaged, I just moved in with him. We are doing wonderfully together and its been amazing, just one HUGE problem. His mother lives with him. She cant afford her own place (i assume?)She has serious OCD cleaning issues (the dust will get in our bodies and make us sick!), only...there isn't any dust. She insists on cleaning the Entire house everyday (its a 3 bed 3 bath). I do my part, heck I'd rather do all of it, but even if I do the work, its not good enough, so she has to redo it (which gets very irritating and insulting, I'm doing a good job). Not only that but she complains all the time about how she has to do Everything Everyday.
She insists I fold my underwear otherwise it will look like I'm not running a good home (whose going to be looking in my underwear drawer? and why is it any-ones business?)
I have to sleep with the sheet folded over the top of the comforter so I don't get it dirty while I'm sleeping.
I should be more careful while I'm 'sleeping' with her son, so I don't make a mess, and I shouldn't keep him up like that when he has work in the morning (whose says I'm keeping him up? Why can't it be him keeping Me up? And yet again why is it any of your business?)
I need to learn how to cook what they like and use her recipe books, not writing down new ones on paper just to try them out.
I don't eat enough food, but i might get fat, i should wear my glasses even though they give me migraine's so i don't get wrinkles around my eyes from squinting, I should dress and do my hair like they do where shes from (its more beautiful).
I should Change who I am and become someone different so I can be Better.
None of these things are exaggerations, she has literally said them all. Naturally I'm going insane (I of course don't do as she says and just ignore her when shes rude, I refuse to change etc). Not only that but she uses that nice person tone, says in that way where its like 'i'm not saying anything wrong. I'm just trying to help'...but you know their lying. So far I've been extremely polite and haven't flipped out or been rude, I'm trying really hard to be civil (but its just getting worse- She called me a liar today- because there is No way I cleaned the pillows like she asked- even though I actually did- and trust me, I really didn't want to!)
