how do you go about writing a book?

I have so many ideas for a book, and want to get started, i just dont know where to start. I have tried writing outlines, but end up going into too much detail then confuse myself. I have also tried just writing without an outline and then end up with writers block or thinking that the whole thing just sucks and erasing it. So how do YOU start?
