How do you get out of a Mr. Holland's Opus situation?

I guess it's not that extreme. I'm a Sophomore in college, and this girl, I think she's a sophomore, asked me to give her piano lessons. I did. I didn't think a thing of it. I gave her my phone number and whatnot. I live in a different town, so I told her that I'd stop by when I was in town and give her some pointers, free of charge. She's nice and all, but she started texting me. It was piano stuff at first, and then advice about the boyfriend she just lost, but now it's progressed to "I missed you" and "Goodnight. I hope you think of me." Obviously, she's enamored. I need to tell her that things can't work (and I don't even won't them to of course), but I'm not sure what to exactly to say short of being cruel that gives her the big picture. What do I tell her?
